Cutting Ceremony for The Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce
January 14, 2021
Our team has become members of the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce as well as the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. Our goal is to amplify the voices of those who are silenced and the best way to have others get involved is by sharing our story and having it reach the entire community. Both Boston and Dover have given us an opportunity to shed light on the hostage victims we are supporting and fundraising for. We hope with this new outreach, we get to spread our message and together we can fight against the injustice that is currently happening around the world.
Hostage Spotlight
This month’s hostage spotlight goes to Jamshid Shahrmahd, a legal U.S resident and German-Iranian citizen who got abducted by the Islamic Republic of Iran in late July 2020. He currently works in a software company but prior to that, Jamshid worked as a journalist that spoke out against the atrocities occurring in Iran. He stood for justice and freedom and did not want to stay silent on the issues he cared deeply about. Read more about Jamshid’s story here.
Fundraising Mugs!
This month we will be selling our foundation mugs as part of our fundraising efforts for Jamshid and his family. Prior to his capturing, Jamshid was the main breadwinner of the household. The family, especially his wife, is suffering tremendously trying to keep up with the financial stress as well as the emotional stress that comes with a loved one held hostage. If interested in supporting this family, please contact us at Team@Fakhouryfoundation.org!
