Statement from the Amer Foundation on the Election of President Joseph Aoun

We are proud to see a leader who is committed to putting Lebanon first, prioritizing the sovereignty, stability, and prosperity of the Lebanese people above all else. This election represents a significant step forward for Lebanon and highlights the weakening grip of Hezbollah on the country’s political and institutional framework.
President Aoun’s inaugural address demonstrated a clear vision for reform, justice, and national unity. As he stated, “Interference in the judiciary is forbidden, and there will be no immunity for criminals or corrupt individuals. There is no place for mafias, drug trafficking, or money laundering in Lebanon.” His strong stance against corruption and organized crime sends a powerful message that Lebanon will no longer tolerate the destructive forces that have plagued its institutions.
